Join us at LEAD for our upcoming summer learning programs for children and students of all ages. LEAD is proud to launch the following summer learning programs, available for enrolment each week this summer!
SUMMER CAMP 2022 *PROGRAM BEGAN JUNE 27*
LEAD continues to offer summer camp this upcoming summer with a few spots left each week! Our camp program is bilingual and our counsellors speak in both English and French Languages. Contact us for more information at camp@lead-education.ca
SUMMER GUIDED READING PROGRAM *PROGRAM BEGINS JUNE 28*
LEAD's guided reading program assesses students' reading levels (A-Z). The program focuses on introducing reading comprehension skills and decoding strategies for children to discern challenging words. As students progress in their reading, they move up reading levels in order to ensure that they are reading on or above their grade level. This program is offered in both English and French Language instruction.
PREPARATION FOR 1ST GRADE *PROGRAM BEGINS JUNE 28*
LEAD's 1st grade preparation program focuses on preparing students for first grade by reviewing letter names and sounds and numbers as well as introductory level reading, writing, addition and subtraction. This program is offered in both English and French Language instruction.
INTENSIVE SUMMER REVISION PROGRAMS (GRADE 1 - 6) - MATH (EN/FR) - FRENCH - ENGLISH *PROGRAMS BEGIN JUNE 28*
LEAD's Summer Revision Program (offered for students in grades 1-6) allows students to review the previous or upcoming grade's content in preparation for the upcoming school year. This program is beneficial for students who faced some academic struggles and need a strong revision of all concepts. It is also beneficial for students who want to be prepared for the upcoming content that will be covered in their upcoming grade. These programs are offered in both English and French Language instruction.
1-ON-1 SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPPORT *SERVICE ON-GOING*
Individualized education programs offered through 1-on-1 support for children with exceptional needs from K to Grade 6. This service is offered in both English and French Language instruction.
1-ON-1 RECREATIONAL THERAPY INTERVENTION *SERVICE BEGINS JUNE 28*
Therapeutic Recreation is a clinical profession that utilizes a therapeutic process, involving leisure, recreation and play as a primary tool for each individual to achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. The participant will be given an intervention plan and actively participate in leisure education and participation. This service is offered in both English and French Language instruction.
SPECIAL EDUCATION WORKSHOPS - SP.ED. SUNDAYS! *PROGRAMS BEGIN SUNDAY, JULY 3*
EMOTIONAL REGULATION THROUGH ART
LEAD's integration specialists will work with students in small groups over the summer. Students will be participating in an interactive art class using mediums such as paint, sculpting, mixed media and digital media. This course is created to teach students emotional regulation techniques, calm down strategies, spacial awareness while stimulating creativity. It also works on social skill stimulation and language stimulation. The course is designed for children ages 5 to 12 years, and offered in both English & French.
SOCIAL SKILLS THROUGH PLAY & LEISURE
LEAD's integration specialists will work with students in small groups over the summer. Students will discover and participate in different types of play, including: parallel, functional, imaginative, dramatic and more. This course is created to teach students functional play, through directive and non-directive techniques. The course is designed for children ages 3 to 11 years, and offered in both English & French.
MOTOR & DEVELOPMENT
LEAD's integration specialists will work with students in small groups over the summer. Students will participate in various activities that focus on the development of their motor skills (fine and gross) and cognitive development. This course is created to focus on pre-writing skills, balance and reflexes, hand eye coordination and memory and concentration. The course is designed for children ages 3 to 11 years, and offered in both English & French.
HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAM PREP *PROGRAM BEGINS JULY 1*
LEAD Learning centre is offering an intensive program that will prepare students for their high school entrance examinations. The program will run twice per week for 1 hour sessions and cover topics seen in Quebec high school entrance examinations. This program is offered in both English and French Language instruction.
ADE x LEAD's MOMMY & ME SERIES *PROGRAM BEGINS JULY 10*
ADE x LEAD's Mommy & Me: Motor Stimulation is a 45 minute class that is lead by a qualified educator. The interactive lesson incorporates fine and gross motor development through sensory, music and motor activities. This program is designed for children 18 months & younger. This class is offered in both English and French language instruction.
