January is a wonderful time to slow down and enjoy family moments, but it can also lead to learning loss when routines disappear completely. Yet just a few minutes a day are enough to maintain reading, writing and oral communication skills.
At LEAD Learning Club, 91% of our members improve their skills after only six weeks of reflective learning. Reflection strengthens understanding and transforms language into confident, meaningful communication.
Here is a simple weekly challenge schedule to keep your child engaged during January.
Week 1
Spark Challenge : Read for five minutes A small spark of reading to keep the mind active every day. |
Magic Word Challenge : Learn a new word A new word becomes a secret superpower. |
Enchanted Memory Challenge : Describe the best moment of your day An invitation to relive a special moment with imagination. |
Week 2
Reading Detective Challenge : Ask questions about a text Become an investigator searching for clues in the story. |
Magic Translator Challenge : Rephrase difficult parts of a text in your own words Turn a complex passage into clear language, as if a wise wizard explained it. |
Favorite Feast Challenge : Explain your favorite food and why A delicious mission that encourages thoughtful explanation. |
Week 3
Star Challenge Step into the life of a shiny star and write a short story about its life. Organize your story in three parts: beginning, middle and end. Add three adjectives to make your writing more vivid. |
Week 4
I Improve Challenge Reread the story you wrote in Week 3. Identify three things you did well and three things you want to improve. Set a clear goal for January. |
Just a small, consistent effort is enough to start January stronger, more confident and ready to learn.
